28 miles in a week has never felt better. I didn’t think it would take nearly 4 months to run 6 days in a week, but alas, it has. I have been through an MRI, chiropractor visits, orthopedists, doctors, time off from running – and finally – a breakthrough that I’ve been waiting for! I had been having terrible, slow runs even as recent as Tuesday. But on Wednesday, I finally felt better.

It has certainly not been pretty, but the pain I’ve been in has reminded me just how much I love to run. I’m a running nerd, so not being able to run has been tough. But I’ve been patient. Allowing my body to recover as much as it needed. To remind myself to run slow; take it easy. To do strength training and allow myself as much cross training as I could take in.
We have to remember that we aren’t invincible and serious work needs to go into maintaining our ability to run. Sometimes, and injury like my non-tracking knee is what it takes to go back to the drawing board.
So stay healthy everyone and listen to what your body is telling you. For now, I want to yell “I’m BACK!” But I’ll wait until camp is over.
What’s the longest you’ve ever been hurt and out of running for?
Welcome back! I hope you remain injury free as you get back on track 🙂
