Monmouth Outdoor Mile

It’s outdoor track time for Rob and the rest of us as he ran a mile race at Monmouth University.  He won his heat by a large margin and here’s his recap of it!

Everything feels fine today. Actually felt fine yesterday immediately after the race. If anything I scared myself out of pushing through the 1200 after the opening 400. Like I knew (obviously) I couldn’t run 4:16 lol but then I checked myself down way too much and just didn’t give myself a chance. I actually gained confidence from that race, though. I’m 100% sure I’m going to do good things this spring and that when it happens it’ll be a big breakthrough, like my half in the fall was.

PS: 4:52.01 last year at Monmouth, 4:50.60 this year. Still an improvement.

I learned I didn’t go out too fast. I went out too fast for right now. If that makes sense.
