The Phillies 5k was this weekend and Tim lined up for the 5th straight year. Tim bettered his time from last week and broke 17 minutes! Here’s his story about this year’s race.
Much happier with my effort this week as I ran tough the entire race. Went through the mile a little faster this week (5:18) and through 2 miles in (10:48). I felt good at the two mile mark and was able to keep my 2nd mile pace going, while battling for 4th place. Although I wasn’t able to take down 4th and place in my age group (missing out on a signed baseball!), the competition dragged me along this week. That’s 5 straight years with top 5 finishes (2nd, 2nd, 4th, 2nd, 5th) which I can’t complain about. Maybe one of these years I’ll get in enough shape to actually take this race down. Dreams are what make life tolerable 🙂
Back is feeling better by the days, just have to keep stretching it out and remember that keeping it in check is an important part of my training.
Now its time to focus on training for longer races. I think getting in shape for an 8k, 10k, or 10 miler is a key to help my 5k time in the future.
Awesome job, Tim! We’re so proud of you! Results are here.
