Hours before this 10k, and here are hundreds of smart people doing a very silly thing!
There’s no way a runner can race properly when they are shivering. It’s just not possible. So next time you decide to run a race, please, wear warm clothes. Do a warm up in those warm clothes, even if it’s a 10 minute jog. And then keep moving up until the gun goes off. You want to be sweating before a race, not shivering. That’s how you run a fast time.
