Parx Casino 5k

In lots of rain and not the best course conditions, Tim ran most of the Parx Casino 5k race by himself.  Here is what he said about the race:

“Today’s race was tough given the wet weather, about half the course was on grass or turf so it was a lot harder than usual.  Believe it or not, I busted out my track spikes.  I looked like an idiot at first, but had great traction on the last mile of the race which was around the thoroughbred track.  I did my best to pace with the leader and keep a positive attitude given the conditions.  I looked at it as at least I can get in a good workout.

Believe it or not my time didn’t turn out too bad and had a great last mile.    I just kept the leader in eye sight to make sure I could stay under 17.  Given the conditions and course, 16:47 isn’t bad at all, which was good for 2nd.  I think this sets me up good for the race next week!
Mile 1:  5:20
Mile 2: 10:55
Time: 16:47
