It’s almost GO time. I still have over 5 months before the gun goes off for the Boston Marathon, but official training starts in one week. Coach Marc stressed the importance of taking at least a week off before we get started with training so with a bit of resistance, I am taking heed to his advice. I am actually half looking forward to having some extra time during Thanksgiving week!
The training plan TrainWithMarc outlined for just me includes the races I will conquer, when I will strength train, when I will hit my peak mileage, and all of my potential workout days. As scary as all that seems, I am actually looking forward to beginning! Its always exciting to see if you can push yourself a little faster, a little farther, or just a tiny bit harder the next time around in marathon training.
As training progresses, I will be sure to update you on my good and bad days and hopefully be able to share some realistic goal times for Beantown! Coach Marc got me to a PR for the last training cycle, so I am hoping with his input and my hard work, we can knock off some more minutes. (No pressure though)
