Jim switched gears in the late stages of his NYC Marathon training to saddle up for a duathlon race in Central Park, NY. While he’s certainly not in “bike shape”, I’d have to say that he did a fine job kicking butt!
Jim competed in the “fat tire” competition – to be honest, I don’t know what that means, but I hope it’s about tire length and not anything else… And in the “fat tire” competition, he finished 2nd in his division and 10th overall. His run times were what kept him ahead of most of the other competitors, as their bike times were much quicker than his.
Way to go Jim. Only a short while left to show off all the training you’ve done!
PS. What the heck is a “fat tire” competition?!
