I’m a bit late updating this, but Emilio jumped into the racing action again and while he claims he made some “rookie” mistakes, he still came out of the race with a close PR time. He ran a 39:45 for 5 miles which is at a 7:57 mile pace!!
For a base building summer (leading up to a fall marathon), to come within 3 seconds of your PR is a great feat. Emilio has come a very long way. He’s bought into the training philosophy that Marc uses and has fully committed to being the best runner he can be.
Here are the NYRR race results.
