It breaks my heart to think that the Boston Marathon has been marred by 2 explosive bombs today. I’m forever grateful that Carly, my friends, my athletes, and my “running family” are all safe.
To think that one short year ago Carly was running down those same streets – and I would have been a block or two away from the finish line waiting for her – makes me sick, scared, and relieved. I feel such sorrow for all the spectators, fans, supporters and especially the runners.
Thank you to all of the first responders, EMT, fire and police departments, volunteers and everyone who showed what America is about.
Please keep your thoughts and prayers with everyone in Boston tonight.
