It was a very special weekend for me as a coach and boyfriend. As this week, Carly returned to the marathon for her road to her Boston Revenge. As most of you know, Boston 2012 was less-than-ideal marathoning conditions and the weather forced Carly to stop at mile 20. Ever since, she’s been planning and plotting to seek revenge on that course. This weekend was the start of that.

Certainly a small race feel out this morning for a marathon. #rehoboth

I’ll cut a long story short and say that not only did Carly get her “BQ” again, but she also set a 2 minute PR – and maybe even more, as the course was reportedly mis-marked and roughly 400 meters long. There have been lots of complaints on the race’s message board, and while nothing will come of it, it’s good to know that her PR could possibly be a 4-5 minute PR instead.
-
So all in all, it was a very successful training cycle for Carly. She ended her season with a 5k PR, a half marathon PR and a marathon PR.
-
And not to be left unnoticed, Patty ran her final 5k of the season. She finished with a good time for her, and while she didn’t PR, she ran a good race!

Ran our last 5k of the year today! The Big Chill at Rutgers. @Fitnessforthought ran with me too! There was no registration fee, instead you had to bring a toy that will be given to kids in the area…
